We build open digital tools so people can better understand and use what is public: fares, media, alerts, data.
Active · Transport
Compare in seconds what the same ride costs on Uber, DiDi, Cabify, Yango, inDrive and taxi.
You type where you are going from and to, and tarifapp estimates the price in each app with fares recalibrated week by week, including rush hour, night and weekend factors. It works without installing anything, without an account and without ads. It covers more than 3,800 addresses in Bogotá and the TransMilenio stations.
Active · Media
See how each Colombian outlet tells the same story, side by side, with the leaning the public sees in it.
Every half hour we read the headlines Colombian outlets publish and group the ones telling the same story, so a single card shows you who covers it and how each one words it. The leaning of each outlet is voted by the public, without accounts and without storing your IP. All the data can be downloaded.
Active · Amazonian studies
Amazonian studies and community work with Indigenous peoples of the Amazon and the Orinoco basin.
We build and maintain the website of the Yauda Amazonian Studies Group, so they can share their research, open their university volunteering programme and push forward their work with the Indigenous and local communities of the region.
Active · Childhood
Meals, a music school, after-school tutoring and a computer room for children and families in Bucaramanga.
We provide the website for their activities, so they can show their programmes, recruit volunteers and receive support without worrying about the technical side.
We design, build and maintain our own tools, and we teach people to build them. Software that works, data anyone can download and knowledge that stays with people.
Our lines of action
Web and mobile apps that solve a concrete everyday problem, free and with no user accounts.
We collect, clean and publish data that was scattered or did not exist, in downloadable formats and under an open licence.
Technical and design guidance for social, environmental and productive projects that need to exist online.
Learn to build your own website; we walk with you from zero until it is online. We open dates as demand comes in.
What we did before
During the pandemic we provided more than 300,000 free telemedicine appointments in Ecuador, with doctors from more than twenty specialities. It helped relieve a health system that had collapsed.
An app that reads the Colombian Geological Survey feed and sends earthquake alerts filtered by how far away you are, with nothing to install from a store.
A virtual library spread across the Metrovía stations of Guayaquil: QR codes in public transport that opened books to read during the ride. Supported by the city culture office and EPICO, it passed 2,000 downloads before closing in mid-2021.
In 2006 we were a group of friends taking school supplies, food and toys to girls and boys in the rural areas of Chía. Over six years we ran more than ten small events, with very few resources and a lot of will. That is where we learned how hard it is to sustain a good idea when nobody helps you with the basics.
Out of that difficulty came what we do today: helping those who want to help, with tools instead of speeches. Corre la Voz is now a civic technology foundation. We build our own digital products, sustain them with our own resources and publish their open data for anyone to use.
Tell us what you want to build or sign up for an open course, and we will write back.
